Tool DesignProduct Design at SIMALEX begins with years of training and experience in the die casting industry. When sample parts, drawings on paper, electronic CAD files or even hand sketches are received from the customer, all facets of producing this part as a die casting are considered. Customer design requirements such as strength, heat transfer, RF shielding, aesthetics, weight, finish, dimensional tolerance requirements, post machining and number of parts required are all looked at. Decisions based on all of these factors that apply are made after discussion and agreement with the customer. CapabilitiesSimalex is capable of utilizing very simple 2 dimensional drawings or complete CAD models. With the very latest releases of SolidWorks Office 2007 and Mastercam 9 Level 3 with Solids, we can provide our customers with thorough detail in the design of their tool. CAD ModelsSolidWorks Office 2007 is a drafting/modeling/manufacturing system, and is used by SIMALEX to produce CAD models and production drawings if required. With this 3D CAD software, we can receive data in a very wide range of translations, including most native formats of Pro/Engineer, Mechanical Desktop, Autodesk Inventor, Unigraphics and Solid Edge. Mastercam 9 Level 3 with Solids is a complete CAM solution for 2- through 5-axis milling. Data provided by our customers in the form of a 3D model can be used to create tool paths for any of our CNC machining centers in minutes and with great accuracy. CommitmentIn the design of the mold to produce the part, SIMALEX is committed to ensuring that the final product conforms to all customer requirements.
